Welcome to Highfield House
Highfield House B&B was built in the early 1800’s on a vast amount of elevated agricultural land. In the year 1834, the residence was opened as a stately maternity hospital and remained so up to the year 1983, making the house 175 years old.
After the closing of this hospital, the house was set up as a convalescent home with the house soon after becoming derelict for quite a few years. The original building was built in stone in the 1800’s but was plastered over in the 1900’s. The initial owners of the house have since revived the exterior stonework of the house in 1998. Original, antique interior features still remain including high ceiling rooms, wooden floors and wooden ceiling beams.
Beautiful gardens surround the house available for guests to experience. The accommodation is located in the heart of the history of Trim, boasting breathtaking views of Trim Castle, The Yellow Steeple, and the River Boyne. Trim Castle River Walk, very nearby Highfield House, also allows for the viewing of these Medieval treasures.
