ROSCOMMON
Roscommon is Connaughts only inland county. Its is a county of bogland, meadows,
low hills and lakes. Visit Lough Key Forest Park and enjoy the nature walks,
the picnic grounds, the bog-garden and the restaurants. Go fishing or cruising
on the lake and watch out for the wild deer who roam freely. The horse racing
enthusiast and the golfer are well catered for here. Roscommon town is named
after St. Colman who founded a monastery here in the early Christian period.
